Titans vs Colts Odds 2018 Week 11 NFL Betting PreviewThe Tennessee Titans could not have asked for a better result for themselves last weekend, as they inflicted some real hurt on the New England Patriots, winning rather easily in the process. But can they follow that up with another strong performance? They may have to, if they want to beat the Indianapolis Colts, who have won three games in a row. Titans vs Colts Odds – CJ’s Take

The Pats had 284 yards against the Titans last Sunday, and it was another instance where the pupil (Mike Vrabel) triumphed over the master. Earlier this season, Matt Patricia, long-time defensive coordinator in New England, beat Bill Belichick with his Detroit Lions. What is worth noting is that the Titans have registered three of their top four rushing totals in their last three games, and it is no coincidence that they have covered all three games.

The Colts started the season 1-5, losing a few of those games with bad luck, but you could tell that first-year coach Frank Reich was instilling something different in this team, because we were seeing it. Andrew Luck came back from his shoulder injury and has been productive, and the offensive line has done an outstanding job protecting him and also providing something of a running game. And now there are three consecutive victories.

So neither team is out of the wild card race by any means. Tennessee is 5-4 straight-up and 6-3 against the spread, while Indianapolis is 4-5 SU and 4-4-1 ATS.

So how well has Luck done this season? Well, he’s got 24 touchdown passes and 2472 yards, and even though he is not sporting a hefty per-pass average (6.7), he is finding different ways to move the chains. Well, obviously he must be, since they are 52.4% on third down, which is the best figure in the league. Luck’s success has often been associated with wide receiver TY Hilton, who’s experienced some injuries but is still averaging 14.8 yards per catch. But the tight ends really do the damage, as Eric Ebron and Jack Doyle have produced 57 catches between them. And Luck is a good enough decision-maker that he fits into this scheme very well, enough to have thrown 14 touchdown passes in his last four games.

And during that time he has not been sacked, a period that encompasses 189 attempts; in fact, the Colts allow sacks less frequently than any team in the NFL. That is not an accident, as they addressed that issue in the off-season. Indy could conceivably be a couple of games better right now; but they’re gambling a little bit more under Reich. Sometimes when you gamble you lose.

The Titans are somewhat dating too, although they haven’t necessarily gotten the kind of work out of Marcus Mariota that they would have liked. Mariota is completing 67% of his passes but has only seven TD’s. Even though Corey Davis caught seven passes for 125 yards against New England, the Titans are still going to rely heavily on production out of the backfield, with Derrick Henry and Dion Lewis (more of a dual threat).

Tennessee has not had much success at all in Indy over the last decade, winning just once (when Jacoby Brissett was the Colts’ QB) with an 8-1-1 ATS mark. This is a reasonable number for this improving Indianapolis side.
