With the New Orleans Saints, the dominant figure on offense, and justifiably so, has been Drew Brees, and so understandably this team has emphasized the pass. But they might be going in a slightly different direction as they break camp this season, because they have added one of the top running backs of all time. VietBet patrons who are interested in wagering on NFL futures will find a genuinely interesting proposition with this Saints team, which has also sought to make major strides on the defensive side.

The most ballyhooed newcomer, of course, is Adrian Peterson, who seemed stymied in the Minnesota Vikings offense last season; that is, for as long as he was able to play. Of course, his injury put a damper on things. And New Orleans coach Sean Payton probably won’t use him to the extent that he was utilized at his previous destination. But that’s okay, because they don’t have to rely on Peterson as much as the Vikings did, since they’ve got such a tremendous passing attack. And you can rest assured that Peterson won’t have to carry the whole load, because the Saints also have former Heisman Trophy winner Mark Ingram, who rushed for over 1000 yards last season, and a very talented rookie in Alvin Kamara (Tennessee) who could make an impact right away.
A big blow, it would seem, was the loss of Brandin Cooks, who had 1173 yards in receptions and eight touchdowns. Adding Ted Ginn Jr. helps somewhat, and one thing VietBet patrons can always count on from Brees is that he can improvise with whatever collection of receivers he has. And that includes Michael Thomas, clearly his go-to guy (92 receptions last year). The Saints really didn’t expect to replace former All-Pro tight end Jimmy Graham, but they did get some production out of Coby Fleener (50 receptions). They just aren’t going to emphasize the tight end as much.
What this team wants to do is dominate things at the line of scrimmage, and that is one of the reasons they drafted Ryan Ramczyk, the Wisconsin offensive tackle, in the first round. Along with Zack Strief, Terron Armstead and center Max Unger (who came in the trade with Seattle for Graham), the Saints do indeed have the personnel up front to both protect Brees and block for Peterson with some authority.
As usual, defense brings its own share of problems. No team in the NFL allowed more passing yards than New Orleans did, and only one team permitted more points (28.4 per game). So naturally there is some pressure on some of the newcomers. That includes Manti Te’o, of Notre Dame fame and defensive end Alex Okafor, not tomention secondary men Marcus Williams and Marshon Lattimore, who will see considerable time as rookies. They had better make improvements in this area under defensive coordinator Dennis Allen (former Oakland Raiders head coach), because if they don’t, it’s another season wasting great numbers by Brees, who threw for 5208 yards in 2016. We don’t mind looking “over” on this one at the price of -135.
