The New England Patriots may have gotten a little redemption with their defense last week, as they made some stands to turn back the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Still, they needed some ineptitude on the part of Tampa Bay’s special teams to get that done, and now they find themselves tied with two other teams for the AFC East lead. On Sunday, they’ll square off against one of those squads, the New York Jets, in a game that begins at 1 PM ET at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ. CBS will televise the game on a regional basis, and if you are a customer at VietBet you can get some real-time wagering in when you access what is available through Live Betting Ultra.

Patriots Jets Odds – Week 6 NFL Betting Preview
The Patriots have been dealing with various injuries; Julian Edelman, who has long been Tom Brady’s favorite short-range target, is out for the season, and Rob Gronkowski, the All-Pro tight end, had a thigh injury that caused him to miss the last game. Brady has been a nice connection with Brandin Cooks, the former New Orleans wide receiver who is averaging 21 yards per catch, and the All-Pro quarterback is having a great season again, completing 68% with 11 touchdowns and only one interception.
Amazingly, the Jets, who were projected by many New York writers to go 0-16, have won three straight games and have done it with defense. Combined, they have held Miami, Jacksonville and Cleveland to just 40 points in the last three weeks, all victories. They have found a little formula, which includes short passing on the part of Josh McCown, the journeyman quarterback who is 71% accurate. And this 15-year veteran has started and won three straight games for the first time in his career. Last week, Chandler Catanzaro, an Arizona castoff, hit a 57-yard field goal to beat the Browns.
The big star for the Jets on defense this season is linebacker Demario Davis, who had a couple of sacks along with a bunch of tackles against his former team last week. He was also outstanding in the Jets’ 20-6 victory over the Dolphins, which was almost a shutout, except Miami scored in the waning moments. The Jets had a hard time making headway on the ground against Cleveland, but they didn’t the week before, as Bilal Powell and Elijah Maguire combined for 256 yards. The Jets also dominated the line of scrimmage against the Jaguars and the Dolphins, but their sack unit could step up things a bit (only seven thus far).
There might be a chance of that happening against this New England offensive line, which really hasn’t gotten into full sync this season. Brady has been sacked 16 times and it is remarkable that is done as well as he has done while taking a beating. The Pats were hoping to get more out of Mike Gillislee, who came on board to essentially take the place of LeGarrette Blount, the workhorse running back from last season. But he averaging only 3.6 yards per carry. Gronkowski, averaging 15.9 yards per reception, is expected back in the lineup.
These teams are both tied with Buffalo with 3-2 records, but New England has won ten straight games on the road. As far as the pointspread trends are concerned, however, the Patriots have not had recent success against this opponent, covering just one out of the last eight meetings. Be really careful of laying the points, as a couple of similar Jets teams were able to play New England down to the wire at this venue when Rex Ryan was the head coach.
