Will Bengals “Man Up” at Home vs. Lions?
This has been a season of bitter disappointment for the Cincinnati Bengals, a team that was thought to have playoff-level talent but isn’t getting anywhere near that this season. And now there are reports of the pending departure of long-time coach Marvin Lewis, which definitely hung over this team last week as it put forth a non-effort against Minnesota. But there’s no excuse, as the Bengals laid down the week before as well, so maybe, just maybe, they can put some pride out there for a big effort at home as they face the Detroit Lions in a game that begins at 1 PM ET at Paul Brown Stadium. Fox Network televises it on a regional basis, and if you a VietBet customer, you can get reduced juice before the action starts, and then access Live Betting Ultra subsequent to the opening kickoff, enabling real-time wagering.

Lions vs Bengals Odds – Betting Preview
The Lions are alive in the wild-card race; they have an 8-6 record (7-6-1 ATS), which puts them right in the mix with the Seattle Seahawks and the Dallas Cowboys. But the best thing they can do is just win these last two games, and they catch a break in the finale as Aaron Rodgers has been put on the shelf by the Green Bay Packers. Detroit has done this with the worst rushing offense in the NFL, but Matthew Stafford has succeeded with some “long handoffs” to Theo Riddick, who has averaged 8.8 yards a catch on his 45 receptions.
The Bengals are challenged on offense, ranking dead last in the NFL in yards gained on a per-drive basis. They have been forced to punt on 50% of their drives, which is also last in the league. They have at least gotten some decent efforts out of the defensive unit, but in the last two games, they look like they’ve laid down, being outscored 67-14. At present, they are 5-9 straight-up and 7-7 against the football point spread.
Reports came out last week that Marvin Lewis, who has been the coach in Cincinnati for 15 years, would be leaving the job to pursue other opportunities. Lewis denied the report, which was originally made by ESPN, saying “We’re all wasting time talking about that – I have not made any decisions.” Some of the players were sore that he did not address this situation before last Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings, and the Bengals rolled over in a 34-7 defeat. That, coupled with a 33-7 home loss to the lowly Chicago Bears, gives most people the impression that they have packed it in for the season.
Some VietBet patrons may be curious about what they’re going to do with Andy Dalton; he has been a solid quarterback through the years, but perhaps not the guy who could take them to another level. The Bengals only had eight first downs and 161 total yards last week, and eventually, AJ McCarron had to come in to replace Dalton. How much will they take a look at the backup this week?
Cincinnati has 36 sacks on the season, so there’s a pretty decent chance to get pressure on Stafford, who has been dumped 39 times. And running back Joe Mixon, who gave them at least a semblance of a ground attack, is expected back from his concussion. We do realize that Detroit is 5-2 straight-up on the road, but perhaps by this time Lewis has straightened out his situation with his players, and that might put this team in a better frame of mind. Do they have any pride at all? If they do, it may be worthwhile taking the points here.
