For a multitude of reasons, the Arizona Cardinals just haven’t gotten things right this season. They have the look of a non-contender and a passing attack that is no better than so-so at the moment. They are going to start Blaine Gabbert once again at quarterback on Sunday as they play host to the Jacksonville Jaguars in a game that begins at 4:25 PM ET at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, AZ. Some of the nation will see this game on CBS, and if you are a VietBet customer, you can watch it live and make real-time wagers in an exciting atmosphere provided through Live Betting Ultra.

Jaguars vs Cardinals Odds – Betting Preview
Carson Palmer is on injured reserve, And Drew Stanton is dealing with a sprained knee, which limited him to emergency duty last week, while Blaine Gabbert made the start. Gabbert threw two interceptions and went 22-34 in Arizona’s 31-21 loss to the Houston Texans, in which they allowed 14 points in the fourth quarter against another rather pedestrian quarterback (Tom Savage). Gabbert, who has had starting assignments with Jacksonville and San Francisco prior to this, will start again as Stanton is not fully healed. He’ll will be without wide receiver John Brown, who has a toe injury.
Jacksonville is not only a contender, the Jaguars surprisingly lead the AFC South with their 7-3 straight-up record. And they’re doing things in a very basic way, by depending on the running game and playing defense at a level that is arguably unmatched by any other team in the league. Blake Bortles has not necessarily exploded, but he has not been making the kind of mistakes that have plagued him in the past. In 315 pass attempts, he’s been intercepted only seven times.
As mentioned, the Jaguars are 7-3 and 6-4 against the points. Arizona is 4-6 straight-up and an extremely disappointing 2-7-1 ATS.
Last week was another outstanding defensive effort for Jacksonville, albeit against the Cleveland Browns. They were able to register five sacks of rookie quarterback DeShaun Kizer and forced five turnovers. They also held the Browns to eleven first downs in the 19-7 victory. The flipside to this was that after the first quarter, they did not score an offensive touchdown. But Leonard Fournette, the rookie out of LSU, ran for 111 yards, fighting through an ankle injury, and this was the plan from the beginning on the part of head coach Doug Marrone and top football executive Tom Coughlin, who coached the Jags previously and later won a pair of Super Bowls with the New York Giants. Jacksonville is the only team in the NFL that runs the ball more than 50% of the time, and as long as they can play defense the way they do, it’s going to be enough to win some games.
VietBet patrons may not realize this, but Jacksonville ranks #1 in the NFL in both points and yards allowed per drive, and they are easily the league leader in sacks, with 40. Their ratio of seven touchdown passes allowed to 13 interceptions is also the best the league. Unbelievably, opposing quarterbacks have thrown for just five yards per attempt against them. So there are plenty of superlatives to go around.
If you are going up against this unit and you are one-dimensional, you’ve got trouble. Jacksonville has a pair of “shutdown” cornerbacks in Jalen Ramsey and AJ Bouye, either of whom might be able to do pretty well against Arizona’s Larry Fitzgerald, and Gabbert has never really shown much evidence that he can put a lot of sizzle into an attack. Adrian Peterson, acquired from New Orleans, has been inconsistent at best; he’s had a couple of really great outings but in his last 35 rushing attempts he’s had only 55 yards. So this might put the Cardinals in a real corner. At of these two teams, the Jaguars are the side we would move with, especially as they have demonstrated they can play on the road, giving up just 43 points in five games.
