Colts vs Ravens Odds – Betting Preview
Baltimore continues to take care of business; they have won four of their last five games, with only a one-point loss to Pittsburgh getting in the way of a five-game winning streak. Over these last three games they have scored 110 points, and that has been great news for an offense that has struggled most of the season. Of course, it is the defense that has carried this club to a 8-6 straight-up record (9-5 against the spread), and their unit, at least on paper, should have their way with the Colts.
Indianapolis has gone through a tough season, and that’s because Andrew Luck, a quarterback that means about as much to his team as anyone in the league, has not been able to play all year. Luck had surgery in the off-season and has just not been able to throw. He’ll try to do that this week, and if the results are not satisfactory, he could be shelved for about another five or six months. There are also questions about whether Chuck Pagano is going to be around after the season finale; he has not exactly been given a vote of confidence by owner Bob Irsay. Currently the Colts are 3-11 straight-up (6-8 ATS).
Indianapolis has lost five games in a row, and during that time they have not exceeded 17 points. What’s been difficult for them is that their backup quarterback, Scott Tolzien, failed miserably in the season opener, so they turned to Jacoby Brissett, a very inexperienced quarterback who joined the team late in training camp and has been doing some learning on the job. Brissett is one guy who can run with the football, so the fact that he’s been sacked 49 times should give you an indication of how substandard the work of the offensive line has been. Surprisingly, last week against Denver the team allowed only one sack. However, the Colts were limited to 228 yards and faded in the second half of a 25-13 defeat. Perhaps there was an excuse for that, as the week before, they had to trudge through the snow – thick snow at that – in the process of losing a 13-7 overtime decision at Buffalo.
VietBet patrons might want to take note that Baltimore quarterback Joe Flacco has passed for 269, 269 and 288 yards in the last three games – constituting his three best games of the season, yardage-wise – and he suffered only two sacks over that stretch. They already have the defensive thing taken care of, as they are #2 in the NFL in points allowed per drive and forced turnovers more frequently than anyone (including 20 interceptions). If the Colts are trying to establish a running game, they are not likely to control things to any degree, because the Ravens have yielded only 3.9 yards per carry.
Take note that the Colts have been involved in games that have gone under the total each of the last six times out, so that might be a judicious way to go here.
