Florida State Gets Winston Back For Trip to N.C. State
By Charles Jay
Jameis Winston is going to be back in uniform this Saturday afternoon.
And this time, he’s really supposed to be.
We don’t know if the Florida State Seminoles have been able to get themselves past the bizarre incidents of a week ago, but they almost lost their #1 ranking when they were taken into overtime by the Clemson Tigers. Now the defending national champions have to suit up and play a team that has often been a thorn in their side – the North Carolina State Wolfpack – as college football betting action begins at 3:30 PM ET in Raleigh, NC.
Winston, as most VietBet customers know, was seen on campus near the student union, shouting vulgar obscenities, and got slapped with a suspension, albeit one that was only half a game. Then the administration stepped in when there was too much flak to deal with and increased it to the entire game.
Winston may or may not have understood what a suspension meant, but he got into full pads and uniform and went to the sideline anyway. He wanted to warm up. And coach Jimbo Fisher, who may have loved to have put him in the game, had to tell him to get the hell out of there.
Strange.
In the college football betting odds that have been posted on this game by the folks at VietBet, the Seminoles are big favorites on the road:
Florida State Seminoles -18.5
North Carolina State Wolfpack +18.5
Over 60 Points -110
Under 60 Points -110
As Winston was sidelined, Sean Maguire passed for 305 yards, and that was great, but there was a void, and Winston hopes to step back in and fill it. There may be more distractions to come, as the rape investigation on him is ongoing, but there is no question that FSU’s winning streak would be in jeopardy at any given time without him.
Whether this sounds surprising or not, N.C. State comes into this game with a 4-0 record (2-2 against the college football betting odds), although a look at the roster of opponents indicates that they have not been in with stiff competition, despite a life-and-death struggle with FBS newcomer Georgia Southern in the season opener. The other opponents were Old Dominion (also a first-year FBS team), South Florida (in a bad year for them) and Presbyterian, which is an FCS (small college) team.
The Wolfpack has a promising young quarterback in Jacoby Brissett, who competed against FSU when he was playing for the Florida Gators. He has registered nice numbers against the limited opposition, as he has a ratio of ten TD passes to just one interception.
One thing VietBet customers should keep in mind here is that the Wolfpack has not shown itself to be intimidated by being in with Florida State, as they have covered eight of the last nine meetings against the football betting odds. Last season? Well, that didn’t produce a good result for N.C. State, as they gave up 564 yards in a 49-17 loss, but they were getting 33.5 points from the linemakers at VietBet, where you can use reduced juice and alternate lines to add some value to your sports betting experience!
