As far as the Indianapolis Colts are concerned, their 2018 season will go about as far as Luck takes them. Of course, we are talking about Andrew Luck, the quarterback who has been nagged by injuries the last couple of seasons and did not play at all in 2017. There has been so much mystery surrounding Luck’s shoulder problems that even people in the organization weren’t sure whether he would be able to take the field last year. But when he’s there, he can make all the difference in the world. For VietBet customers, knowing his availability is obviously the key to evaluating this team.
We have seen Luck work out, and everybody associated with the team is pretty certain they’ll be able to make the post when the regular season starts. If he can’t, at least this team has a backup with some experience. Jacoby Brissett wound up the starter last year, and he was at least adequate, with 3098 yards and 13 TDs. Brad Kaaya, the former University of Miami quarterback, has potential in the #3 spot.

The new coach is Frank Reich, who was an offensive coordinator in the league for years, and the front office decided to emphasize protecting Luck in the draft, using for two of their first three picks on offensive linemen. Seriously, we’re not sure that the Colts can turn things completely around, considering any team with a 4-12 record has some holes, but they’re starting to lay the foundation.
The Colts drafted Notre Dame’s Quenton Nelson with the sixth overall selection in the draft, and then took Braden Smith of Auburn on the second round, and those two rookies, who were the first-team All-America guards as recognized by the Associated Press last year, will probably start at that position. Keeping Luck healthy is a must, and some of that might include success in the run game. Indianapolis lost Frank Gore, who is getting a little long in the tooth, and they really did not make significant upgrades in the backfield. That is a concern. They also lost starting wide receiver Dante Moncrief. Perhaps sixth-round pick Dion Cain out of Clemson will be a pleasant surprise for them. Something else that they did which was significant was acquiring Eric Ebron; the former tight end in Detroit joins Jack Doyle in giving Indy two capable players in that spot.
Interesting enough, Indianapolis was +5 in the turnover category, yet they were 30th in the NFL in both scoring offense and scoring defense. This is also a tough division, as Jacksonville, Tennessee, and Houston could all be considered playoff possibilities.
This running game does not appear to be threatening, and perhaps that means Luck will be putting the ball in the air more than even he intends. But the fact is, he is one of the more difference-making quarterbacks in the league, so if he is healthy, and plays well, this team could make things even more interesting in the AFC South.
