Broncos vs Dolphins Odds – Betting Preview
Denver thought they would do a little something different last week, so they decided to give Paxton Lynch the starting assignment. Lynch was last year’s first-round draft pick; he battled an injury in training camp and was only practicing a couple of weeks. On top of that, the Broncos enlisted a new offensive coordinator, Bill Musgrave, who had been the quarterback coach. The objective was to simplify the offense and give Lynch his best chance to succeed. Well, he didn’t succeed very much, and Denver’s offense was stopped cold, as it has been many times this season. Trevor Siemian, who has come out of the last two training camps as the starter, came into the game and at least brought some life to the proceedings, so he’ll get the start again.
As far as the Miami situation is concerned, the Dolphins had to go with Matt Moore, sometimes a reliable backup, last week as Jay Cutler was sitting out with a concussion, and to put it mildly, things did not go well, as Miami’s offensive line gave up seven sacks, which left Moore very banged up. They lost 35-17 to the New England Patriots, and Cutler has now been cleared out of the concussion protocol, which means he’ll make the start.
Aqib Talib, the All-Pro cornerback who got into a brawl with Oakland’s Michael Crabtree last week, had originally been suspended for two games, but after an appeal he will only sit out this contest. Not like Cutler can do a whole lot to exploit it; he’s averaged only 5.9 yards per attempt this year. But he has at least been able to avoid getting sacked a lot better than his backup; in 284 drop backs, he’s been dumped only 13 times. Obviously part of the storyline is that Cutler is going up against his former team, but what’s more important to the Miami cause is the fact that they may have just one healthy running back – Kenyan Drake, who has only carried the ball 42 times this year.
Lynch only threw for 41 yards last week, and Denver went three-and-out six times in its first nine possessions against the Raiders, who are not known for their defense. And the Bronco quarterbacks got sacked five times. This is a capable defensive unit, as VietBet patrons have seen in the past, and indeed the Broncos have yielded only 3.2 yards per carry, but they’ve also given up 24 touchdown passes with just five interceptions. It comes down to who’s going to it will break their long losing streak; Denver has dropped seven in a row, during which time they have scored just 99 points.
