The Seattle Seahawks (-118) are going to have defense; that much is a given. Last season they allowed fewer points and fewer rushing yards than any other team in the league. That unit won’t necessarily be better, but it will be stable, and has a chance for a better start because Kam Chancellor will be there from the beginning. And of course, Richard Sherman can take care of one side of the field. Russell Wilson should be more and more sure of himself as he progresses, and obviously his ability to improvise is a great asset. And this Seattle offense, which appeared more explosive with Doug Baldwin really emerging as a dangerous receiver, may have to do some improvisation of its own, because there is shuffling on the offensive line, as well as a running back situation to address. Marshawn Lynch, he of “Beast Mode” fame, has retired, and though Thomas Rawls filled in nicely when he was injured last year, that position could be thin. And we’ll see if Jimmie Graham, who produced such magic with Drew Brees in New Orleans, can cultivate that kind of chemistry with Wilson.
