The New York Giants are fighting like hell for a division title, even though their chances diminished after last week’s loss. On Sunday night they are going to try and keep their hopes alive as they visit the Minnesota Vikings in a game that is set to begin at 8:30 PM ET at TCF Bank Stadium. The Giants are now third in the pecking order behind the Washington Redskins and Philadelphia Eagles, in that they do not control their own destiny. The Vikings, with two games left, can still win the NFC North, if they can win here, get an Arizona win over Green Bay on Sunday, and then beat the Packers next week.

New York Giants +5

Under 45 points -110
These Vikings have not posted a lot of quality wins, truth be told. And their victory over Kansas City came before the Chiefs went on an eight-game winning streak. So in a sense they are unproven. Of course, that word will never be applied toward Adrian Peterson, who leads the NFL in rushing with 1314 yards, a rather remarkable feat considering that he sat out what was, in effect, an entire year. Peterson’s status for Sunday night’s game is officially questionable, as he sprained an ankle and had to be taken out of last week’s game against Chicago (a 38-17 Minnesota win). But even after sitting out a couple of days of practice, coach Mike Zimmer is certain he will be ready to go.

Let’s make this clear – any team that has Eli Manning (32 TD passes, 3900 yards) at the controls is going to be dangerous, but the Giants are admittedly less so without the services of wide receiver Odell Beckham, who found himself acting way out of line last week against the Carolina Panthers. Beckham, who has 1396 yards worth of receptions, dueled with the Panthers’ Pro Bowl cornerback, Josh Norman, for most of the afternoon, and things got ugly enough that Beckham, wound up delivering at least one intentional head-to-head blow. His behavior resulted in a one-game suspension, which held up upon appeal. He has drawn a lot of scorn, but the bottom line for the Giants is that they have to make the adjustments, and frankly, their other receivers have not necessarily been major play-makers.
Could they possibly put together more of a running game to get by? Understandably, that is a question many Vietbet patrons have. They made some things happen in last week’s game, with 161 yards against a tough Carolina defense. And this came in a game where they almost were able to finish off a heroic comeback, tying the game after being down 35-7 and almost dealing Carolina its first loss after 13 victories. That was the kind of game that might normally take a lot out of the “gas tank,” so to speak.

The Vikings need for Teddy Bridgewater to continue coming of age if they want to make any run in the playoffs (they need only a victory here to get in). And their second-year QB out of Louisville had four TD passes and a touchdown run in last week’s win over the Bears. His 38 sacks might be more of a problem if it weren’t for the fact that the Giants are such a poor team at getting to the quarterback, with a sack rate that is lower than anyone else in the NFL (3.2%, in fact).
