If he wins on Sunday, he will be part of a very short list of drivers with three Monaco victories consecutively – Graham Hill, Alain Prost and Ayrton Senna.
His task is going to be very difficult, however, as his teammate, Lewis Hamilton, captured the pole position and will be going after his first Monaco victory since 2008. Hamilton was second to Rosberg last year, and there is little doubt he comes into this event in high spirits, having just signed a three-year, $150 million deal with Mercedes. He also leads the world championship driver standings, with a 20-point lead over Rosberg. Hamilton is currently priced at -125 to win the race at Vietbet, with Rosberg at +420 and Sebastian Vettel, now with the Ferrari team, at +1500.
Sunday night brings us the Coca-Cola 600, which takes place at the Charlotte Motor Speedway, and this will be the last event here for Jeff Gordon, who has won at the track five times and is retiring at season’s end. It has been announced that Gordon will become an analyst for Fox sports and its NASCAR coverage next year. Matt Kenseth won the pole position, and it should be noted that while 13.3% of the winners at this track in Sprint Cup competition have come from the pole, a higher percentage has come from those drivers who started second. In this case, that would be Joey Logano, who is priced at +850 to win the Sprint Cup championship in the latest odds that are posted at Vietbet. Jimmie Johnson was last year’s winner, marking his seventh victory at this racetrack, including Coca-Cola 600 wins in 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2014. With a victory he can tie Darrell Waltrip, who has registered five wins in this specific race.
