Are you looking for a team that might have a little upside as we explore the final stretch of the NBA season? Well, one of those teams may just be the Chicago Bulls, about which much has been expected over the last few years, with disappointing results. Will this be the year they get everything together? They still have some time to do it, for those Vietbet customers who are planning on taking a long look at the futures market.
The Bulls have not been racked by injuries, but they have been bothered by them, and that has affected their defensive rhythm. Joakim Noah is the guy who keys that defense with his shot-blocking capabilities in the lane, and he has been in and out of the lineup. Derrick Rose has not sat out time, but the injury issues that have taken him out of action for the better part of the last two years are always going to be looming. It is probably too much to expect that he would have the same level of quickness, and that is something that may be affecting Chicago as well. This is the highest shooting percentage they have allowed an opponent since Tom Thibodeau, the defensive guru, took over as head coach. The Bulls are currently priced at +410 to win the Eastern Conference title and +800 to capture the NBA crown, according to the NBA futures posted at Vietbet.
At the same time, there may be more offensive potential here than usual. It has been fortunate that Jimmy Butler has emerged as one of the NBA’s better scorers, and the free agent signing of Pau Gasol – which essentially was a swap-out for washed-up Carlos Boozer – looks like a very wise move. Both of those players appeared in the All-Star Game for the East.
Taj Gibson is something of an “X” factor, and frankly, we don’t know whether he is going to be dealt away by the trade deadline or not. He is reportedly not overjoyed, because he has had a difficult time fitting into the scheme of things since the arrival of Gasol and rookie Nikola Mirotic, but at crunch time, the Bulls could really make use of his shot-blocking ability, at least somewhere.
This season it appears the Bulls aren’t going to have to deal with the Miami Heat or Indiana Pacers all that much, since even if one or both of those teams get to the playoffs, they are coming in as a bottom-feeder. But some new “haves” have emerged in Atlanta and Washington, and Chicago will be looking for experience to afford them an edge.
But when it gets right down to it, doesn’t everything really just come back around to the former MVP? Rose is going to be the man at the point, and his ability to use the components around him is going to determine how far the Bulls go. Vietbet patrons should know that historically, teams that have a shoot-first point guard don’t win championships, and all too often in the past Rose has tried to be the beginning AND the end to the play. Sometimes that makes this offense predictable, and that is not where you want to be when you are playing a series against a capable opponent. Rose scored 53 points with 41 shots in the last two games before the break – both Chicago wins. But will something like that be good for this team in the long-run?
