TCU vs Kansas State: Winner May Get to the Playoff

In the Big 12 conference, it doesn’t get much bigger than the game they’re about to have this Saturday night in Fort Worth, as the TCU Horned Frogs, who have ridden an explosive offense to the point where they can actually contend for a national title, play host to the Kansas State Wildcats, in the game that will in all likelihood crown the conference champion. TCU is ranked sixth in the latest Associated Press poll, and is seventh in the coaches’ poll. In the Playoff Rankings, the Horned Frogs are #6 in the country. When you think of Kansas State, you think of a team that does not do a lot of things to beat itself, which is generally characteristic of Bill Snyder-coached clubs. They hardly ever get penalized; in fact, only Navy has incurred fewer penalty yards on a per-game basis. And Kansas has only turned the ball over seven times this season, which would seem to mitigate one of the strengths of TCU, which leads the nation in turnover margin.

Boykin completed just 12 of his 30 passes, although one of them was a 40-yard strike down the field on the final drive that led to the winning field goal in what were considerably less than favorable weather conditions.
