The Seattle Seahawks struggled to a 9-7 record last season, and they appear to be going through quite a transition on both sides of the football. There’s a lot of stuff that’s new here, including both coordinators, and how this all plays out remains to be seen. But VietBet customers can rely on two constants – quarterback Russell Wilson and head coach Pete Carroll.

2018 Seattle Seahawks and Betting Preview
One of the things that Seattle knew it was going to have to have going into last season was a better running game. That is something they did not get. Wilson led the team with 586 yards on the ground, and no one else had more than 240. The huge disappointment was Eddie Lacy, who was picked up as a back who could get the job done, but he was virtually useless. Thomas Rawls suffered through injuries and he is now just a memory. Chris Carson and CJ Prosise have also had injury problems. The Seahawks hope that they will have better luck with their first-round draft pick, Rashaan Penny of San Diego State, who has a great speed-power combination and breaks a lot of tackles. What they would love to do is be able to have someone like Penny be a workhorse, the way Marshawn Lynch was for them.
After losing Paul Richardson, who wound up with the Washington Redskins, Seattle seems to have bolstered itself a little at the receiver position, bringing in Jaren Brown, who was with Arizona last year, and Brandon Marshall, the former Bronco, Bear and Giant who has the ability to be very productive. Of course, Jimmy Graham is no longer in the fold, and he was not as productive in Seattle (9.1 yards per catch last year) as he was in New Orleans. Of course, he was working with a different kind of quarterback. Ed Dickson comes over from Carolina, and he will likely be the starting tight end.
The defense sustained heavy losses. And it is just a shell of what it was last season. Michael Bennett has left for the Philadelphia Eagles. Cornerback Richard Sherman, whose 2017 season was ended with an Achilles injury, has resurfaced in San Francisco. Defensive end Cliff Avril announced his retirement. Defensive lineman Sheldon Richardson, who had been acquired from the Jets, has left as well. And Kam Chancellor, one of the premier strong safeties in the league, retired for health reasons. All of those players were Pro Bowl participants.
The new additions include linebacker Barkevious Mingo, who was with Indianapolis last season, defensive lineman Tom Johnson, formerly with Minnesota, and defensive back Maurice Alexander, formerly of the Rams. Shaq Griffin will have a chance to solidify himself at one of the corner spots, and the Seahawks made his brother Shaquem Griffin their fifth-round draft pick.
Interestingly enough, Seattle may experience an upgrade on special teams. Sebastian Jankowski, who spent forever with the Oakland Raiders, comes to the Pacific Northwest for his 19th NFL season. And Seattle got a great punter in the fifth round of the draft when they took Michael Dickson, the Ray Guy Award winner, from the University of Texas.
Right now we look at this team and think “transition.” With the Rams having made so many upgrades and all that optimism in San Francisco about Jimmy Garoppolo, the Seahawks might just struggle to get to the .500 mark and be relevant in this division.
